Teollisuuden Vesi Oy – Industrial Water ltd. is a Finnish SME company and an expert of water treatment systems.  It serves industrial sites and power plants, mines, pulp and paper mills, process industry, manufacturers, research institutions and agencies. It has offices in Espoo and Mäntsälä with 13 employees.

Its main products are

  • pilot and rental reverse osmosis and water treatment units
  • design projects incl. water balance calculations, chemical analysis, microbial studies, process design, modelling or engineering

 

Reverse osmosis is the main technology used in the water recirculation processes. It is a low-cost and an easy method to produce good quality water and its applications are increased continuously. At the same time the practical problems with fouling, scaling and concentrate quality and amount are faced.

The aim of the project is to test and find out in pilot-scale the applicability of the novel methods and alternatives to overcome the problems experienced during the operation. Piloting tests will include but are not limited to the precipitation processes to improve the pre-treatment as well as the reverse osmosis tests to improve the recovery percentage and to limit the amount of concentrate e.g. with forward osmosis technology.
