The Green Growth programme’s key figures
Tekes Green Growth programme was launched on 1 November 2010. The programme is scheduled to last five years, ending in December 2015. Total volume of the Green Growth programme is currently EUR 114 million (situation in 2/2015), which has already exceeded the estimated total volume of EUR 80 million due to increased demand in the area.
Tekes innovation funding covered EUR 53,4 million, or 47,7 percent of all project costs. The project portfolio currently (2/2015) consists of 36 research projects and 110 company projects, covering thematic fields of energy and material efficiency, bioeconomy and biomaterials, recycling, recovery of raw materials, waste handling, new business models and innovative service concepts.

Enterprise projects
The total value of company projects in Green Growth programme was EUR 95,6 million. Tekes innovation funding was EUR 41,9 million, divided into grants of EUR 26,5 million and loans of EUR 15,4 million. Companies self-financing for the projects was EUR 59,5 million. Figure 3 shows Tekes innovation funding for enterprises and the total costs of projects annually (2011-2014). The regional distribution of Tekes innovation funding for companies is shown in Figure 4.

Distribution of Tekes innovation funding based on company size
Out of 110 companies funded in Tekes Green Growth programme, 56% were SMEs. Tekes innovation funding for SMEs was 44% in all company funding during the programme. The funding distribution based on number of projects and amount of funding in EUR is shown in Figure 5 and Figure 6, respectively.

Research projects
The total value of Green Growth programme’s research projects was EUR 18,2 million of which Tekes innovation funding was EUR 12,4 million. Research organizations’ self-financing was EUR 5,8 million. Figure 7 shows the Tekes innovation funding for research organizations and the total costs of projects annually (2011-2014). The regional distribution of Tekes innovation funding for research organizations is shown in Figure 8.
